    Day 1,Welcome to Madrid!

    Welcome to Madrid, the Capital of Spain! On arrival, you’ll be met by your English-speaking driver and transferred by luxury car to your hotel for the next 3 nights. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure, to begin exploring the city! Overnight in Madrid. A Tip For Your Trip: Visit El Junco for some dancing and live music!

    Day 2,Madrid

    In the morning, following your buffet breakfast, you’ll be taken on a 2-hour private tour of Madrid, by luxury car with an English-speaking driver. As the capital of Spain, Madrid is a city of great cultural and political importance. By the end of this tour, you will have gained a complete vision of Madrid. Enjoy a panoramic view of the old part of the city. We will also approach the façade of the Royal Palace; the 18th century left its neo-classical mark on the splendid Royal Palace complex, the Sabatini Gardens and Campo del Moro, located in the city center. The church of San Francisco El Grande, the fountains of Paseo del Prado, the Toledo Bridge, the Prado Museum, and Puerta de Alcalá are also good examples of this splendid style. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure, to continue to experience Madrid on your own. Overnight in Madrid.

    Day 3,Madrid

    Today you have a full, free day to explore Madrid. Among the splendid attractions of Madrid are the Prado Museum, home to masterworks of Goya, Velazquez and El Greco; the 19th century Villahermosa Palace, now the Thyssen-Bornemizsa Museum; the Reina Sofia Art Centre, showcasing more than 300 modern works by Dali, Miro and Picasso among others; the 18th century Royal Palace, situated on the lovely Plaza de Oriente; the bustling Puerta del Sol with its many shops, restaurants and tapas bars; Rastro Market on Sundays, one of the oldest outdoor markets in Europe; and Retiro Park for strolling while admiring local artists.     Day 4,Madrid - Barcelona

    After breakfast, your private transfer will take you to the train station in Madrid, to pick up the high-speed train to Barcelona. A mere 4 hours later, you will be in the Catalonian capital! Take a high-speed AVE train to Barcelona where you will spend the second and final leg of your trip. The train is exceptionally comfortable and spacious with meal son board along with entertainment. Once again you will be met by a private transfer, and taken to your hotel for the next 3 nights. Overnight in Barcelona. EXPECTED TRAVEL TIME: 2.5 hours

    Day 5,Barcelona

    Following breakfast, enjoy a private 2-hour tour of Barcelona, by luxury car with English-speaking driver. The variety and wealth of Barcelona's heritage provides a number of attractive routes through its various districts, and along the way, you will get to know the most typical monuments of the city. As you explore this cosmopolitan Mediterranean city, you’ll visit the façade of the Cathedral, and of the Sagrada Familia - a unique creation that has become Barcelona's most universal symbol. The tour continues to the Olympic Village, the Columbus monument and then on to the Montjuïc Mountain, where you will be able to see the Olympic Stadium and Sant Jordi Palace. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure, to continue to experience Barcelona on your own. Overnight in Barcelona.

    Day 6,Barcelona

    Today you have a full, free day to explore Barcelona. Following breakfast, a good place to begin is in the city’s Old Town area, crossed by Barcelona’s most famous avenue, Las Ramblas, full of interesting sites. From there, stroll to the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter), where the 13th century Gothic Cathedral is located. Also in Montjuic you’ll find the Palau Nacional, home of the Museu Nacional d’Art Catalan, hosting a great collection of medieval art (especially Romanesque frescoes). If Gaudí is your thing, then you should not miss Guell Park, full of his work covered in brightly colored tiles. Afterwards see the Sagrada Familia, a Christian temple and the most famous and spectacular of Gaudí’s works. Unfortunately he died before finishing the work (he is buried here, in the crypt), which continues to this day. Other must-see sites in Barcelona include the Palau de la Musica, Museu Picasso and the Olympic Harbour. Overnight in Barcelona.

    Day 7,Depart Spain

    Following breakfast, you’ll be taken by private transfer to the airport in Barcelona, for your journey home. EXPECTED TRAVEL TIME: You will only be about 20 minutes from the airport.

    The Hotel Catalonia Puerta del Sol is situated in the popular area known as the Madrid de los Austrias. The building where it is found is particularly beautiful and dates back to the late part of the 18th century. The hotel enjoys a strategic position right in the centre of the city centre, near the Prado Museum, Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
